Jill’s Consignment has a Louis Vuitton bag that is priced slightly under $13,000.00!  No, that wasn’t a typo.  The Limited Edition Runway 2006 L’Extraordinaire Alligator Lady (City) Steamer Bag is priced at $12,995.00.  Naturally, I was curious as to why this rare beauty was priced so outrageously high, so I did a little research.  I found an article that describes the concept known as “hyper luxury“.  It refers to “products that are rare, exclusive, of extremely high quality, often handmade and unapologetically expensive.”  Evidenly, wealthy people grow bored of acquiring luxury items that are mass produced.  They crave more personalized luxury items, made of only the highest quality materials, that are truly rare and exquisite.  {Full article here}.

Back to the bag – it’s black alligator and monogram calf leather in brown with gold-tone hardware including four Louis Vuitton engraved studs at the base, Louis Vuitton engraved belt loops and buckles and Louis Vuitton engraved padlock (with alligator key clochette and two keys).  Additional features include double zip closure with Louis Vuitton engraved orbs; side buckle detail; black patent leather rolled handles; and patent leather belt at front.  The bag is structured at the top and has a soft, rounded, pleated body.  There is black suede lining with flat pocket and d-ring.  This gorgeous, limited edition bag is in pristine (only carried 3 times!) condition and comes with dust cover and original booklet.  The hardware is scratch-free and the interior is immaculate.

If I had to choose the next “it” bag, it would definitely be the Reed Krakoff ‘Boxer’ Tricolor Leather Satchel.  Let’s take a moment to observe all the elements that really make this bag special.  It’s a well balanced mix of utility, femininity and fresh, modern design.  I love the belt and strap details that wraps the front of the satchel.  The structured silhouette and subtle color blocking makes this bag both fashionable and functional.  Features include open top, interior zip, wall and cell phone pockets, cotton twill lining, and exterior magnetic-snap and flap pockets.  Color: nude/multi Price: $1,090 at Nordstrom.

I’m back with another haute designer deal!  The pretty fuchsia Louis Vuitton Monogram Vernis READE MM I featured a few days ago is no longer available, so I had to revisit Jill’s Consignment to find another bag to lust over.  It only took a few minutes to find the Louis Vuitton Lichen green denim Neo Speedy.  I love that it’s not your ordinary LV bag.  Features include natural cowhide trim, golden brass hardware, zip-top, front zippered pocket, two front push-lock pockets, and interior flat pocket.  It’s in excellent condition.  The interior is immaculate as is the exterior monogram denim.  Leather is very light and even-toned and other than a black mark that should come out with gentle cleaning.  Dust cover included.  Price: $895.00.

Some trends are just always in regardless of what’s “in”.  Python accessories can be worn year round so if you’re debating on whether to add some exotics into your wardrobe, then I say go for it!  While browsing Bloomingdales.com, I came across the Elie Tahari Glass Python Stacey Top Handle Satchel.  I will admit that seeing the name “Stacey” caught my eye for obvious reasons, however, this is also one gorgeous bag.  Elie Tahari’s top handle satchel features python and color block leather panels, detachable crossbody strap, turnlock closure, interior zip pocket and two interior slip pockets.  It’s available in lemon twist and mountain blue.  Price: $498.00.

Every woman should own a red bag.  It’s a classic wardrobe staple that adds a pop of color to neutrals.  Now is the time to shop around for a bag or two since Bloomingdale’s is having their semi-annual handbag sale – select styles are 30% off the retail price!  I love the Rebecca Minkoff Cassanova Top Handle Satchel because of it’s simple silhouette, studded details, and roomy interior.  Features include top handle, removable crossbody strap, front flap with turn lock closure and two exterior pockets with snap closure, interior zip pocket, two slip pockets.  Price: $395.00 $276.50.  Semi-annual handbag sale ends 1/2/12.

It’s no secret that Jill’s Consignment is one of my all time favorite consignment shops, so I am constantly checking in to see what’s new.  Of course, the ever so popular Fendi Nappa Spy Bag immediately caught my eye!  It’s made of the signature brown zucca canvas fabric, with brown nappa leather and tortuga rolled leather handles.  There’s a “secret” compartment on the flap closure and another “secret” compartment on the handle.  Gold-tone trimmings on the flap strap.  This bag is in pristine, like new condition and comes with a dust cover.  Price: $995.00

I am in desperate need of a black everyday bag.  Naturally, I wouldn’t go for a simple, black bag (you guys know I love color and texture!) so I have started searching for a [mostly black] bag with subtle visual interest to keep me from getting bored with it.  I found what seems to meet all of my criteria in the Isabella Fiore Gun Metal Eliza Satchel.  There are so many design details that immediately grabbed my attention – the textured haircalf cheetah print, the leather stitching, gunmetal chain design, the braided trim front flap, must I go on?!   Additional features include single top handle, adjustable/removable shoulder strap, turnlock closure, back magnetic snap pocket, interior zip and 2 slip pockets.  Price: $595.00 $476.00 at Bloomingdales.com.  (Sale ends 11/13/11)

One of my favorite stores is Urban Outfitters.  My bff and I used to spend our weekends browsing every rack at the UO in Georgetown (DC).  We always left feeling inspired, and still love how the accessories are eclectic and have a “city chic” feel.  It’s a little hard to define the term “city chic”, but there are certain items that just fall into that category.  The Ecote Studded Professor Satchel is the perfect example.  The distressed faux leather and antiqued pyramid studs and hardware work so well together, don’t you think?  There is a flap closure and the main compartment is lined with a zip pocket, organizer pouches, and adjustable crossbody strap. There’s nothing more exciting than consignment shopping because you just never know what you may find!  I am thrilled to share my latest discovery – THE Louis Vuitton Limited Edition Stephen Sprouse Graffiti Speedy 30 circa 2001!!  Features include monogram canvas with khaki graffiti, zip-top, rolled leather handles, golden brass hardware and padlock with two keys. This LV is in excellent condition.  The leather trim and handles have darkened to a nice honey patina.  The handles are darker at the tops from carrying.  The interior is clean.  The monogram canvas is pristine.  The Louis Vuitton engraved brass rivets have scratches and darkening which is common over time.  Price:  $1,495.00 at JillsConsignment.com.
