I was particularly excited to learn of LaBosh Handbags because the designer and I both attended the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising (aka FIDM) in Los Angeles. Tosha Cole Clemens uses her love of fashion to bring awareness to social issues. “Seeing my own design made into a product is truly amazing, but knowing that a young woman may have a better chance in life because someone bought one of my bags is even better.”

I am always inspired by self taught designers because it takes patience, discipline, innovation, and self confidence to learn a new craft or skill and actually turn it into a profitable business. Cara Kiely was frustrated with constantly having to search through her purse for her wallet, keys, cell phone, etc., all while juggling one child on her hip and another at her side. She could not find a handbag that met her needs as a busy working mom, so she decided to create her own.
